Your payment of the Online International Program Fee ($500) will allow you to enroll in online courses at UCLA Extension. This fee is in addition to the cost of individual classes.

The Online International Programs Fee gives you access to exclusive UCLA benefits that may include:

  • Career services, including resume, interview, cover letter, and LinkedIn prep; networking opportunities; career coaching, exploration, and guidance
  • Access to UCLAxOpen — dozens of professional and personal development seminars, offered online at no cost
  • Guidance from the International Programs - Global Education Office (IP-GEO) for help transferring to on-campus study at UCLA Extension
  • Exclusive webinars and workshops for online international students

Fees are subject to change at any time. Programming changes quarterly.

The instructors and support providers had a personalized approach, facilitating my interest in styling assignments to address the populations I serve. At UCLA Extension, I truly feel like an individual, not just number in a digital course space.

How Online Learning Works

Two people at a computer screen

Log into Canvas, our easy-to-use, cloud-based learning management system using your web browser or the Canvas mobile app. Review the course syllabus, connect with classmates in the discussion portal and begin your studies. If your course utilizes Zoom, you will have access to the link for your course through Canvas.

  • Retrieve course materials, which may include discussion boards, readings and videos, webinars, and other activities.
  • Connect with your instructor with questions about your assignments, your progress, or to gain deeper insights on various topics.
  • Submit your coursework via Canvas for feedback and evaluation. Contact 24/7 technical support if you need assistance with using Canvas.

Technical Requirements

Students must have basic computer skills, including the use of word processing software, email, and the ability to use internet browsers, such as Safari, Firefox, or Chrome. Students are responsible for meeting the technical requirements of Canvas and familiarizing themselves with the Canvas Learning Management System.

Students are also responsible for keeping a copy of all assignments and work submitted, and for being aware of all assignments, due dates, and course guidelines.

Resources for Online Learning

Online Learning Formats

Online: Course content is delivered weekly through an online learning platform where you can engage with your instructor and classmates at your convenience. Assignments are due regularly, but there are no required class meetings. Optional office hours with the instructor are offered through Zoom. This flexible learning format allows you to access course content anywhere, anytime, on your schedule.

Live Online: All class meetings are scheduled and held in real-time using Zoom, allowing for live interaction with your classmates and instructors. Course materials can be accessed any time through an online learning platform.

Hybrid: A blend of remote and online instruction, this learning format features some scheduled, live class meetings using Zoom and some pre-recorded instruction, activities, discussion boards, or other course materials accessible through an online learning platform where you can connect with your instructor and classmates. Note: For hybrid courses, please ensure the class you are enrolling in does not have in-person sessions.
