More than just an ID, it also helps you save.
BruinCard
Current UCLA Extension certificate students are eligible to purchase a guest BruinCard. A guest BruinCard can be used to:
- Serve as an optional photo ID
- Access recreation privileges on the UCLA campus for a nominal fee
- Purchase discounted TAP cards valid on L.A. Metro buses or Flash Passes valid on the Santa Monica Blue Bus and Culver City lines via the BruinGo! Transit Program
- Deposit money on account with UCLA, then use your BruinCard as a fee‑free debit card at the ASUCLA bookstore, campus food facilities, and various BruinCard merchants in Westwood Village.
- Access print collections in UCLA libraries for a nominal fee.
Eligibility for BruinCard
UCLA Extension students may be eligible to obtain a BruinCard if they meet the following criteria:
Initial Eligibility
To qualify for a BruinCard, students must:
- Have an active and current certificate candidacy (i.e., paid the Certificate Candidacy Fee, currently $200, and not graduated or expired), and
- Be currently enrolled in a course or have enrolled in a course within the past 12 months that is applicable to their certificate program.
Please note: If a student pays the Certificate Candidacy Fee and enrolls in a course but later drops the course, they will no longer meet the eligibility requirements. In such cases, the BruinCard will not be issued or renewed.
Card Validity and Renewal
- The BruinCard is valid for two years from the date of issuance.
- A renewal fee applies at the time of renewal.
To renew a BruinCard, students must:
- Maintain an active certificate candidacy (not graduated or expired), and
- Be currently enrolled in a course or have enrolled in a course within the past 12 months that is applicable to their certificate program.
