  • Understand and apply the proper technical approach to typography, as well as explore unconventional and expressive formats
  • Produce design projects with original ideas and creative solutions, demonstrating technical skills learned
  • Articulate in a professional and constructive manner in group critique

About this course:

Explore the stylistic and expressive potential of typography as a critical element of graphic design solutions in this hands-on course. Students learn about word/image juxtaposition, eclectic stylization, and contemporary design trends. Substantive projects explore the compositional and semantic aspects of typography for portfolio application.
Prerequisites
DESMA X 479.4A Typography or consent of instructor. Knowledge of both Illustrator and InDesign is required.
