Ting Ying Han

Ting Ying Han is an interdisciplinary artist whose immigrant experience deeply informs her work. Working with sculpture installation, Han explores pressing social and political issues. Her recent research-based project delves into the complexities of city landscapes and urban infrastructure, addressing themes of community identity and belonging. Han received an MFA in Studio Art from the California Institute of the Arts in 2013. Solo projects include Invisible Landscape (2023) founded by the Los Angeles Department of Culture Affairs, PLAY(ed)GROUND at POST Art Galery (2018). Han's work has been included in thematic exhibitions at San Franciso Chinese Culture Center (2023), Kala Art Institute (2022), Fellows of Contemporary Art, CA (2017), Tin Flat (2018), and The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (2011). In 2011 she was a fellowship recipient at the Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, CA, and has participated in residencies at Ox-Bow Artist-in-Residency, Vermont Studio Center, ACRE Residency, and Sculpture Space. Her work has been featured in publications such as "Noplaceness: Art in a Post-Urban Landscape." In addition to her studio practice, Han actively engages in the artistic community as a member of the AAPI Artist Network, a collective that bridges the gap between the art community and the broader public, aiming to build platforms and share contemporary Asian American Pacific Islander art practices.
