Dave Fraunces

As Director of Consulting & Training, Dave Fraunces leads and executes training initiatives for The MBS Group. Dave oversees the MBS strategy to expand access and skills to under-represented groups in the film and television industry. He partners with clients, not-for-profit organizations, and MBS internal resources to create training solutions globally. On the consulting side, Dave serves as the first point of contact for investor groups looking for help with a sound stage development. Projects often begin with feasibility studies and evolve into design, construction, operations and equipment consulting. MBS partners with 400+ stages globally as the exclusive provider of state-of-the-art grip and lighting gear through our ESA consulting initiative and network.

He was a key member of the team sent to the Philippines that trained over 1,000 people in 20+ skills sets for above and below-the-line crew. He also co-developed the program with Women In Media to focus on fundamentals needed for women to pursue careers in the Set Construction, Grip and Electric fields. He serves as a guest instructor and designed a graduate program for Grip and Electric classes with Streetlights, a non-profit based in Los Angeles. MBS has training cohorts throughout Canada and the UK as well as domestic US. Dave developed the MBS Webinar series on Virtual Production started in 2021 to expand the knowledge base of our clients in new technology.

Prior to MBS, Dave spent 15+ years as a freelance producer, director, and line producer. Through his production company 21st Street Films, he produced, wrote and directed web-based branded content for multiple brands including Clorox, Porsche, Madison Square Garden and more. He served as an instructor at UCLA Extension for Low-Budget Filmmaking. “Below the Beltway”, a feature film Dave directed and produced, won the Audience Award at the Newport Beach International Film Festival. Additionally, he produced 8 features, 4 pilots and hundreds of advertising spots. He also scheduled and budgeted numerous feature film, web series and commercials as a line producer. Dave holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Auburn University. He lives in Manhattan Beach, CA with his wife and two sons.
