About this course:
The course provides an introduction to quality performance improvement and patient safety in a healthcare setting. This course summarizes utilization of data in order to measure impact of QI programs, setting goals based on best practices and implementing changes that result in improved patient care. Students will be exposed to quality and process improvement tools including but not limited to Root Cause analysis (RCA), LEAN, algorithms, process maps and PDCA methodology. This course will also introduce students to analysis and change management methodologies to support and sustain the changes implemented in an organization.Students must have completed and received a grade of C or higher, in PUB HLT X 414 Surveillance and Epidemiologic Investigations for Infection Prevention and Control Professionals.
