Roni Feinstein
Roni Feinstein received her Ph.D. in art history at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, where she wrote her dissertation on Robert Rauschenberg under the guidance of Kirk Varnedoe. As a specialist on Rauschenberg's work, she has spoken at museums across the United States and published dozens of articles and essays, including the catalogue for Robert Rauschenberg: The Silkscreen Paintings, 1962-64, which she curated for the Whitney Museum in 1990. Feinstein served for 7 years as Director of the Whitney Museum of American Art, Fairfield County, where she organized exhibitions and supervised all museum functions. For the past 20+ years, while living in South Florida, Toronto, Sydney and the New York area, she has been an independent scholar extensively involved with teaching, curating and writing. Her involvements have included teaching at the University of Miami, Coral Gables, at the Museum of Modern Art and at New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies, curating exhibitions for various university art museums and writing for Art in America, The Wall Street Journal, Print Quarterly and other publications. In April 2011, she relocated to Southern California and subsequently taught at the University of California, Irvine.
