Instructor Statement
The creative writing workshop is a space where different ideas and perspectives meet. I believe in the endless potential of this alchemy of influences. At the same time, writing is a solitary act and the most powerful work comes from the innermost regions of the writer’s mind. My job is to help you find the balance between your unique sensibilities and what you can learn from other writers. In my classroom, we inspire each other to take risks, try on new perspectives and embrace our instincts. My goal is for you to emerge from the workshop with increased sensitivity, a clearer sense of your own voice and a deep excitement for the many possibilities available to you through your writing.
