About this course:
This course will immerse you in the creative and logistical process of scoring a film. Topics include collaborating and communicating with directors, dealing with temp scores, learning how spotting sessions work, incorporating themes and variations, and overcoming creative roadblocks. In addition, you learn how to breathe life into your scores, how to find your voice and how to communicate beyond the notes on the page when working with live ensembles. Instruction includes the opportunity to record your cues in a professional recording studio with live musicians.MUSC X 449.41 Recording, Editing, and Mixing Techniques for Film Composers and MUSC X 483.1 Film Scoring on a Budget, or consent of instructor.
