About this course:

The content of this (4) four unit course will provide fundamental knowledge required to support an Infection Prevention program in the surgical care environment. This course will provide an outline of the role of the infection prevention professional’s role in improving infection risks in the surgical environment. The topics covered in this course include: OR structure, function and design, regulatory requirements, surgical teams, surgical services, environment of care, cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, minimizing risk to healthcare workers, cleaning, disinfection and surveillance, leadership and professional development of surgical site infections.
