Shelley Robertson
Shelley Robertson is an actress located in Los Angeles, California. She is best known for her recent recurring guest starring role as Mrs. Bassin on the hit series, Bel-Air on Peacock. She is also well known for her many long running TV commercials, such as Jif Peanut Butter (the mom sending Jif in a care package to her college daughter), Xerox (one of the Greek chorus members), and McDonald’s (Ronald McDonald Happy Meal mom). She has an upcoming Volkswagen commercial, an Ibrance commercial still running, and a Chase Bank commercial (seasoned mom” seeing her son off to college) which just ended. During Shelley’s 35-year professional acting career, she has been seen in a myriad of television commercials for products including Walmart, Kmart, Sears, 3-day Blinds, Miralax, Geico, Facebook, Kool-Aid, Bayer Aspirin, and Directv. Additionally, her career includes over 100 television credits. In addition to Bel-Air, Shelley’s latest guest starring roles are on CSI-Las Vegas, NCIS: Los Angeles- New Orleans, the main NCIS, The Rookie, and Good Girls. Additionally, she can be seen in critically acclaimed shows including The West Wing, The Morning Show, Grey’s Anatomy, Brother and Sisters, Cold Case, ER, and Everybody Loves Raymond.
Shelley was born in Philadelphia, PA and started singing and acting in school productions. She left Philly for Atlanta, GA where she attended Emory University, graduating with a Political Science degree. She was planning on law school, but after a stint working at 9-5 in Atlanta city government and getting halfway through her master’s degree in Public Administration, her DNA moved life in another direction. Shelley began her professional acting career working with Howard E. Rollins and Carroll O’Connor on In the Heat of the Night. Within a few years, she was living in Los Angeles. Early on in LA, the Theatre called, and she was overjoyed to receive a LA Weekly nomination for Best Actress for “Joe Louis Blues,” and a NAACP Theater Award Best Supporting Actress nomination for “Long Time Since Yesterday.” She’s been blessed to work extensively in the commercial and television worlds.
