John H. Gormley
John Gormley has over 25 years of experience in project and program management, focused on capital improvement programs for facilities at university campuses. Currently, he is the Director of Design & Project Management at UCLA with oversight of the campus’ Minor Capital Projects and Deferred Maintenance Programs, valued at approximately $110 Million budget. John’s previous responsibilities included the Assistant Vice President for Facilities Services at California State University, Channel Islands, for almost 12 years, where he managed capital programs that contributed to the expansion of the student enrollment and services, almost doubling over a decade. He previously worked for different national architectural firms, focusing on the planning, design and construction of projects in the higher education sector.
John has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California, is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and was elevated to their College of Fellows in 2017 for his work at CSU Channel Islands. He has a certificate for leadership and management from the Advanced Management Institute, a group focused on instructing professionals in the design, engineering, and construction fields on project management and leadership.
