James Tischler

Jim Tischler earned his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh (Go Steelers!) after earning his BA in Government. That was his foundation for a 30 year career in the private sector. Initially he worked for Fortune 500 type companies in various management and marketing capacities, working his way up the corporate ladder. When the opportunity came up to join a startup international trading company as a Vice President, he decided to accept it and never looked back. After a few years with the startup, Jim left and founded his own international trading company. For the next 10 years, Jim built his company selling consumer goods and foodstuffs directly to supermarkets and department stores in the Middle East. His company also began importing fresh produce and other perishable products from several European countries for distribution to major US Supermarkets. Jim has always  maintained that the opportunity for extensive international travel and working directly with senior management and owners of a wide variety of business entities in a number of different countries was an exceptional educational and personal learning experience. In 2000, Jim had the opportunity to begin teaching college courses both on site and online. Within a few years he settled on teaching online classes only and has done that ever since. He has taught for several major colleges including UCLA, specializing in Business, Marketing, Management and Economics courses. Jim and his wife live just outside of Tampa Florida, where they enjoy the beach life and their 5 grandchildren.
