Harriet Cohen

Harriet L. Cohen is the founder of TRAINING SOLUTIONS, a consulting firm that provides expert resources for organizations and individuals to help them achieve their goals, improve customer satisfaction, develop staff on all levels, guide strategic/business planning, address legal and compliance regulations, and positively impact both retention and recruitment. For over 20 years Harriet has used her training and consulting skills in several arenas, both public and private; providing services for the U.S. Air Force, Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, Office of Affirmative Action Compliance, and District Attorney, OCTA, Blue Cross, Robertshaw, Kaufman & Broad, Southern California Edison, Sony Pictures, Scherzer International, and Universal Studios to list a few.  Her current projects address performance management, sexual harassment, discrimination, diversity, strategic planning, marketing, and customer driven quality. She has assisted clients develop managers, supervisors and leaders, created competency based programs, improved recruitment and retention programs, and refined performance evaluations. She is certified to use several assessments including 360º feedback, and career profiles to positively impact succession planning and retention. Harriet has provided career development programs to over 500 people.  As a Business Development Specialist in Thrive in 5 for Women’s Economic Ventures ( WEV) she is able  to use her expertise to enable businesses to grow and be sustainable.

Harriet has first hand knowledge of business strategies and procedures, which combined with her training skills offer both the practical and theoretical information needed to excel in today’s marketplace. She has given presentations to both national and international audiences. In addition to being a contributor to “Know” and “Sue” (paralegal and litigation magazines), and the “Pacific Coast Business Times”, Harriet has been interviewed and quoted in INC. December 2008 and the Ventura Star November 2008. She has had articles published in the Pfeiffer Journals, 2001 and 2002.  In 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 she was nominated for “Women Who Make a Difference” through the Los Angeles Business Journal. The American Society for Training and Development Los Angeles Chapter has recognized her on numerous occasions for her contribution to the field of human resource development. As the 1995 President she has been commended for her leadership and her ability to advance the professional development of the individual and corporate members. Harriet received her BA from the University of Massachusetts and her M.Ed. from Boston State College.  She is an instructor in Management, Training, and Human Resource Development at the University of California Los Angeles.
