Information for WIOA Referring Counselors

Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) Training

UCLA Extension has agreed to accept training referrals that comply with any one of the following terms for reimbursement.

  1. UCLA Extension will invoice 100% of the entire certificate program cost after the student has attended five class meetings. A copy of the original training authorization voucher and a UCLA Extension Self-Certification of Attendance form, that verifies the five-class-meeting attendance, will be submitted with the invoice. A copy of the certificate of completion will be sent when the student completes the certificate program.
  2. UCLA Extension will invoice 100% of the entire certificate program cost after the student has completed 50% of the requirements for the certificate program. A UCLA Extension Self-Certification of Attendance form, to verify attendance leading up to the time of invoicing, and a copy of the original training authorization voucher will be submitted with the invoice. A copy of the certificate of completion will be sent when the student completes the certificate program.
  3. UCLA Extension will invoice 50% one calendar month from start of the certificate program and 50% when the certificate is awarded. A UCLA Extension Self-Certification of Attendance form, to verify class attendance during the first month, and a copy of the original training authorization voucher will be submitted with the first invoice. A copy of the certificate of completion will accompany the invoice for the final 50%

Incomplete Programs

Refunds or amounts due, if a student does not complete the program, are prorated based on UCLA Extension's refund policy and the number of completed courses in the certificate program. UCLA Extension will notify the referring agency counselor as soon as we are aware the student has stopped attending the program.

Attendance Verifications

UCLA Extension cannot submit instructor-completed attendance forms as verification of student attendance. Students must complete a UCLA Extension Self-Certification of Attendance form, submit a copy to Extension's Financial Aid office, and provide a copy to their referring agency counselor.

Progress Reports

UCLA Extension does not provide monthly progress reports. Students are responsible for reporting progress to their referring agency counselor. Students can print out a verification of enrollment report through their UCLA Extension student portal and provide it to the referring agency as proof of enrollment.
