Dr. Sierra Burkhart is the Academic Director of UCLA Geospatial, the GIS and geospatial technology initiative of the UCLA Department of Geography. Within the field of GIS, Sierra specializes in the study and development of Web-based mapping technology, spatial analysis, and geographic data visualization methods. She holds a Ph.D. in Geography from UCLA and teaches related courses in GIS, cartography, and programming both for UCLA Extension and for the UCLA Department of Geography.
