Instructor Statement:
My workshop philosophy is driven by the desire to enrich the writer's experience and success. I believe that our time together in the classroom should be focused on developing critical reading skills, finding constructive ways to provide critique, and helping writers hone in on moments of energy in their creative works. Writers need to understand their worth and how their experiences and unique point of view matters, whether they are writing a personal essay or working toward a book. My hopes for the class are to form a community of thoughtful, encouraging, and respectful peers that support each other as readers and writers.
