Annika Echarti
I started tutoring almost 20 years ago and have been enjoying teaching ever since. By now, I
have taught and coached individuals as well as small groups at all levels of education and
maturity—from high school to Master’s programs to adult clients in my financial coaching
business.
My educational path led me to start out in the shipping industry. While I lived in Santiago de
Chile, I worked with people from all around the globe, always managing a budget and
negotiating prices with international companies. Later I worked as a project manager, where
I oversaw, established and implemented processes in all branches worldwide. I gathered
and led numerous project teams from international departments making sure that all
important knowledge got considered. I created project plans and documentation, motivated
everyone when things got hard, educated teams about company systems, and troubleshot
problems as they arose. It was crucial to meet every team-member where they were at and
invited them into the process, a skill that I had learned when I was teaching small groups
during university.
I became passionate about personal finance when I started my first full-time position. To
understand how investing works I first asked my friends for help, but I realized that no one
had any knowledge so I started googling, reading books, etc. Soon, I became the expert of
my friend group, and they started recommending me to their friends. In 2022, I took a big
leap: I quit my job and started my own financial coaching business where I meet my clients
online and in person. Helping mostly self-employed and small business owners to organize
their finances in alignment with their goals and values which showed me again how much I
truly enjoy helping people to understand their finances. Doing this job, I learned quickly that
knowledge itself is not enough to change behavior. This is why I am dedicating a whole part
of the coaching on behavioral finance and the psychology of financial behavior, which helps
my clients to understand and adapt their actions
