Grant Hovik

Grant Hovik has worked in the field of behavioral health for the past ten years. Currently Mr. Hovik is a trainer and online curriculum developer for UCLA’s Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP) and the Pacific Southwest Addiction Technology Transfer Center, where he conducts a variety of trainings based on evidence-based substance use disorder treatment. Mr. Hovik also works extensively with UCLA ISAP’s partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health to implement system-wide training initiatives on integrating substance use disorder treatment into various systems of care. Mr. Hovik develops trainings, clinical tools, and provides ongoing clinical consultation for mental health, substance use, and primary care providers across the state of California. With his training experience, Mr. Hovik specializes in teaching Motivational Interviewing, Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), co-occurring disorders, and the neuroscience of substance use disorders.

Mr. Hovik earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, Teachers College after completing his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Southern California. Prior to joining the staff at UCLA ISAP, Mr. Hovik worked on a number of research studies and clinical trials on psychopharmacology, public health, HIV, and social psychology.
