This course provides engineers, designers, and contractors with a basic understanding and appreciation of fire protection systems, specifically automatic sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, fire pumps, and water supplies.

- Focus on the aspects of automatic sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, fire pumps, and water supplies in desiging fire protection systems
- Develop an understanding of design and installation practices of systems, calculation methods, installation standards, product evaluations, and review and approval of fire protection design plans
About this course:
This course provides engineers, designers, and contractors with a basic technical understanding and appreciation of fire protection systems, specifically automatic sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, fire pumps and water supplies. Students will develop an understanding of design and installation practices of systems, calculation methods, installation standards, product evaluations and review and approval of fire protection design plans.
Prerequisites
Successful completion of Plumbing Systems Design I and Plumbing Systems Design II, or consent of instructor.
