About This Course
The most important step in selling an idea or script is creating the perfect pitch document. This document can serve as a guide for yourself during your verbal pitch, but it can also be a roadmap for your pilot and series once it is sold. In this workshop, you take your television show idea or pilot script as a foundation to create a professional pitch document. You learn the perfect way to introduce yourself and your idea, elaborate on your show’s premise, describe the world of show, create detailed character descriptions, expound on episode ideas and finally demonstrate your show’s tone by comparing it to other shows. We also discuss how to use your pitch document and the requirements of studios, networks and streamers and the WGA “no free work” rule. By the end of the course, you have a completed pitch document. Students must have either an idea for a TV series or a completed TV pilot at the start of the course.
