Every dream starts in the mind of an inspired visionary. Southland Alibi began in 2020 through the vision and support of the Writers’ Program at UCLA Extension, with the goal of creating a space for emerging and established writers and artists to share bold, thoughtful, and memorable work. Over the years, the journal grew through the efforts of many editors, instructors, students, and staff members who generously contributed their time, creativity, and care to the publication.

We are deeply grateful to the genre editors, assistant editors, readers, contributors, and creative community members who helped shape Southland Alibi throughout its run. Their passion and dedication made this publication possible.

We are honored to have shared the art, fiction, nonfiction, and poetry published in these pages, and we hope readers continue to explore and enjoy the incredible work featured in our archive.

With gratitude,
