Pathway Fees and Financial Aid

We hope you join our community

Pathway students on campus

Pathway is a part of UCLA Extension, and while Extension is an integral part of UCLA, we do not receive any direct or indirect state or university funding. Our program is supported entirely by student enrollment fees, contracts, sponsorships, and philanthropic efforts.

Pathway is an approved Comprehensive Transition Program (CTP) that allows Pathway students to qualify for Federal Financial Aid. In addition, we maintain a private scholarship fund.

We offer three program options: full-time residential, full-time commuter, and part-time commuter. Program fees and the services included are described below.

Pathway program options and fees

Full-Time Residential Program

Living away from home while attending a college program is an important way to learn skills for independent living, and we recommend that all students take advantage of our residential option.

Pathway fees include:

  • All Pathway core courses and elective classes*
  • Level Lab - a weekly living services class
  • Program expenses
  • Academic advising with Pathway staff and UCLA undergrads
  • Social activities
  • Recreation center access
  • Internship and placement support
  • 24/7 residential support provided by Level Up Solutions

Program Fee: $54,700/year (Includes Rent)

Fees are payable for the entire year and cover all educational aspects of Pathway.

Housing and meal plan fees are paid separately. Independent/Supported Living Services (I/SLS) are not included in tuition. For clients of regional center these services are covered. For those students who are not clients of regional center, I/SLS can be paid privately.

*Additional fees may apply for courses offered by entities outside of Pathway

To fully experience university life, nothing equals living near campus, where students can enjoy convenience and a sense of community.

Pathway’s housing is situated at the heart of university life and is just a short walk from classrooms, libraries, and sports facilities. Housing is provided in a privately-owned building. Students share a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment (4 occupants). Furnished with basic necessities, the rooms are set up like a college double.

Pathway Scholarship

In addition to Federal Financial Aid, Pathway also has a needs-based scholarship that we administer directly.

To determine eligibility for the Pathway Scholarship, applicants must submit a copy of their Student Aid Report from the FAFSA application and a signed photocopy of the prior year's Federal Income Tax Return.

Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis, and students who receive a scholarship during their first year in the program can expect to receive one during the second year of the program. Current scholarship recipients must apply each year.

Scholarships are for Pathway academic and program fees only and cannot be used for other expenses, such as rent, books, or meal plans.

It took awhile for Elena to get used to college life, but throughout the years she earned the freedom and independence she deserves. She now feels she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to.
