World Religions

Religion lies at the root of every culture, influencing art, literature, laws, economics, and more. Without knowing the religious background of a people, it is impossible to understand them and their history, or even their current politics, since religion shapes a worldview and a way of interpreting reality. This course familiarizes students with the major religions of the world, provides an overview of indigenous traditions, and explores religion as an object of study. This course uses the Hybrid format which allows students to participate remotely and/or in the classroom. This course will be recorded. Students will have access to videos for the duration of the course.
