Instructor Statement:
The world is full of great stories waiting to be told. I want my students to find those stories and tell them and I try to give them the tools to do so. We start with baby steps--where to get ideas, how to find a market, how to sell an idea. Then we move on to the skills needed--researching the story, interviewing, getting good quotes. And finally, we learn how to put it all together. A writing teacher once told me, "Nobody ever gets worse and worse; everyone only gets better and better." So I encourage students to continue to write, continue to edit and continue to read good writing.
