Jim Aldinger

former two-term mayor of Manhattan Beach during his tenure on the Manhattan Beach City Council. He was appointed to serve on the California Coastal Commission by the Senate and served for a year. He served as president of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments and served six years on the Southern California Association of Governments board of directors. Mr. Aldinger was also active in Democratic Party politics and was elected to serve on the Democratic State Party’s executive board. Retired Department Manager in Spacecraft Design and Integration, Antenna Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, and Lead Designer for Hughes Aircraft Company (later Boeing); he designed and built satellites for more than 30 years.
