Erica Gallerani recently received her PhD from the Geography Department at the University of California-Los Angeles, where she studied remote sensing applications of avian conservation in Hawaii and the California Channel Islands. Prior to her studies at UCLA, Erica worked with a conservation nonprofit in Hawaii as their GIS and Database Management Assistant and worked in consulting as a GIS Forester. Her combined 10 years of varied professional and academic experience center around the utility of cutting-edge GIS technology in the spatial prioritization of management and mitigation actions. In her free time she enjoys hiking, surfing, and running with her dog.
