Elise Forier Edie

M.F.A., playwright and author, whose credits include the book and show, The Pink Unicorn and an award-winning romance novel, The Devil in Midwinter. Ms. Forier Edie has received awards from the National Playwrights Conference, United Solo Theater Festival, Artists Trust, the Washington State Arts Commission, the Columbia Entertainment Company and Tangent Online. Her short stories have also appeared in anthologies and magazines throughout the US and Canada.

Instructor Statement:

My aim is always to help my students achieve their goals, whether they want to write a bestseller or just get some coherent words on a page. Classes focus on technique and craftmanship, but also honesty and authenticity. I stress process, the messy business of drafting, rewriting and refining. Since this can be lonely, difficult work, I also strive to create a community in my classes that will help writers feel supported while they risk and grow. Good stories can inspire, entertain, teach, create understanding and empathy. That’s world-changing work, and I love empowering my students to do it.
