Donald H. Hewitt
Instructor Biography:
Donald H. Hewitt is a working screenwriter with over 25 years of experience, published author, WGA member and screenwriting professor, whose feature film credits include the English-language screenplay for the Oscar-winning film Spirited Away, as well as My Neighbor Totoro, and Oscar-nominated Howl's Moving Castle. Mr. Hewitt has written for Pixar, Working Title, Miramax, New Line, ABC Family, Disney, Riot Games, and Fox Animation. Donald has also had the privilege of working with some of the top producers in the industry, such as: David Heyman, John Lasseter, Peter Chernin, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan, Viola Davis, Charles Roven and Alex Gartner. He is currently writing the upcoming feature Mfinda
Instructor Statement:
When I began teaching 15 years ago, I had no idea how much I would love it. Sharing my knowledge and experience with students is exhilarating. I love hearing all these amazing story ideas with fantastic characters – it’s a blast to help bring them to life. Working on so many dynamic stories with such diverse characters really helps me stay on top of my game. I have had many students go on to have success – it is one of the things I am most proud of as a teacher.
