David Reinus
David Reinus is the owner of David Reinus CPA, Inc., an accounting firm located in Thousand Oaks, California. His firm specializes in the accounting, tax and consulting needs of small to medium-sized businesses and their owners. The firm also offers payroll processing. He has been the director of Business Operations—Western Region for Becker Professional Review, a company that offers exam preparation courses for the CPA exam. Mr. Reinus taught for Becker from 1991 through 2013, the first 11 years in the classroom and the rest online. Prior to Becker, he worked in public accounting for 21 years, 13 of those as a sole practitioner and 8 years with a large local CPA firm located in Los Angeles. Mr. Reinus has been with UCLA Extension since July 2004, teaching courses in intermediate accounting, advanced accounting, taxation and ethics in accounting. In addition, he gives presentations to university classes regarding the CPA exam, its contents and the requirements to sit for the exam and become licensed. Mr. Reinus is also an author and test writer for the California Professional Ethics Course that is given to all CPA candidates as the last step in the licensure process.
Mr. Reinus earned his B.A. in Economics from UCLA in 1978 and received his C.P.A. certificate from California in 1980. He also has an M.B.A. from the Keller Graduate School of Management, taking all of 16 classes online. Coupled with his online teaching experience, he has seen this instructional venue from both sides of the table.
