This introduction to philosophical issues about the nature of the mind and its relation to the body covers materialism, functionalism, behaviorism, determinism and free will, and the nature of psychological knowledge.

About this course:
Introductory study of philosophical issues about nature of the mind and its relation to the body, including materialism, functionalism, behaviorism, determinism and free will, nature of psychological knowledge. Transferable for UC Credit.
Applies toward the Humanities (Philosophy) requirement in the College of Letters and Science. Midterm and final exams are proctored online; additional requirements include microphone, headphones/speakers, and webcam. Enrollment limited to 25 students. Visitors not permitted. There is no textbook for this course. All readings will be posted on Canvas.
