Acquire an understanding of the principles of selection, application, and operations of automation systems within the aerospace industry
Demonstrate working abilities to perform calculations and analysis of automated production operations
Create interactive projects by building circuits and writing elementary code to control them
Obtain exposure to the first principles of control systems
Articulate the use of automation, and be able to identify both the advantages and limitations for different levels and types of systems and equipment

About This Course

This course introduces students to Automation in the Aerospace Industry. Content includes Automation and Control Technologies, Material Handling and Identification, Manufacturing Systems, Quality Control Systems, Manufacturing Support Systems and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing. Primers of Mathematical Elements underlying Physical System Operations, with Exposure to First Principles of Control Systems is Included, and Lab Work Demonstrating Functional Microcontroller Device Synthesis and Operation.
