About This Course

In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, organizations must adapt quickly to complexity, uncertainty, and changing customer needs. Driving Value through Agile Principles and Mindset introduces students to the foundational concepts of Agile methodology and explores how these principles can unlock value in both software development and manufacturing contexts.

The course begins with a historical overview of how Agile philosophy emerged in response to the limitations of predictive, plan-driven approaches such as Waterfall. Students will learn how the Agile Manifesto reshaped modern management practices by emphasizing adaptability, collaboration, and value delivery over rigid processes. Through this lens, the course contrasts predictive and adaptive delivery methods, helping students understand when and why Agile frameworks provide a competitive advantage.

Building on this foundation, students will explore practical techniques for navigating complexity in project and product management. Emphasis will be placed on analyzing value versus risk, identifying high-impact opportunities, and applying prioritization techniques such as MoSCoW, and other frameworks that support effective decision-making. Students will also learn how to optimize flow within teams and organizations to ensure that work is continuously moving toward outcomes that deliver maximum value to customers and stakeholders.

By the end of the course, students will not only have a deep appreciation for Agile as a mindset but will also leave with a toolkit of practical skills they can apply immediately in the workplace—whether they are new to Agile or have some prior exposure.
